Actividades Extraescolares

Volunteering Work project - closing.

This project was specifically designed for our teenagers, due to the fact that we believe that they are mature enough to experience to the fullest extent this type of selfless activity.  The project has helped them become more aware of the some of the more urgent social situations that surround them.  They are beginning to develop their own set of values and from our standpoint we want to help them grow into well rounded individuals and to show them the realities of others less fortunate.

With this volunteer project we hope that our students will take an active role in our society and acknowledge the different realities that surround them in their future.

Subject such as English, Global Education and Citizenship have worked in unison focusing on the same objectives as the United Nations and the objectives from here in Granada.

Our students researched how different NGOs works as well as organizations with similar characteristics are run by international governments.  After completing their research each student chose a locally run NGO and volunteered a minimum of five hours of their time.

Upon completing these incredible experiences, the students presented in front of their friends, family, teacher and NGOs representatives a presentation that they gave in English.  It was incredible to see how professional they all sounded and how capable they were to speak so clearly and well in front of so many people.  It was fantastic how they expressed all that they had learned on this incredible experience.  Many of our students will keep in touch with the supervisors from the NGOs and hopefully volunteer again in the future.  Once again, congratulations!

On behalf of all of us from the Colegio Internacional de Granada, we would like to thank all of the NGOs that opened us with open arms and has guided and supervised our students making this all possible to happen.  Thank you all 13 NGOs, without your support, none of this would have happened.
