We are pleased and proud to highlight the participation of our 11th-grade student, Ilias, in the prestigious EYP (European Youth Parliament) debate program. This event is a unique platform where young people from all over Europe have the opportunity to debate and share ideas on issues relevant to the future of the European Union and the world. Ilias not only represented our school in Granada with excellence but also managed to qualify for the national phase, achieving great success in this experience.
The European Youth Parliament is a program that fosters critical thinking, dialogue, and collaboration among young leaders, and Ilias’s qualification for the national phase is a testament to his dedication, argumentative skills, and commitment to learning.
What is the EYP (European Youth Parliament)?
The European Youth Parliament (EYP) is an organization that brings together students from across Europe to discuss political, social, and economic issues of global importance. The program aims to engage young people in debates about current challenges, while offering them the opportunity to develop skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, and teamwork.
Ilias’s qualification for the national phase
Ilias’s achievement in qualifying for the national phase of the EYP is a significant milestone for both him and any bilingual school in Granada like ours. During the process, Ilias had to demonstrate not only his debating skills but also his ability to work in a team with other young people from various parts of the country, a challenge he more than overcame.
In this competition, students must debate on current and pressing issues, such as climate change, human rights, the global economy, and technological innovation. Ilias’s qualification demonstrates his deep knowledge of these topics and his ability to communicate his ideas effectively and persuasively.
A well-deserved recognition
At our school in Granada, we greatly value the participation of our students in extracurricular activities such as the EYP, as they offer unique opportunities for personal and academic development. Ilias’s participation in this event, and his qualification for the national phase, is an inspiring example for his peers and a showcase of the talent and effort that characterize our students.
We are confident that this achievement is just the beginning of a promising trajectory for Ilias. The experience gained in the European Youth Parliament will provide him with valuable tools not only for his academic life but also for his future as a committed citizen and leader in his community.
Congratulations and a promising future
We want to congratulate Ilias for his effort, dedication, and success in the EYP.
