In celebration of 8M – International Women’s Day, the English department wanted to collaborate by offering a poetry reading session on the island at our school. We read poetry written by 8 poets from different countries, different moments in time and on different topics in their original language, followed by an interpretation into English.
This activity was led by students in second of Upper Secondary Education and with the collaboration of other teachers from the Humanities department as well.
Different feminine voices, with a touch of purple, were heard from the world of literature.
“There is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind”, Virginia Woolf.
