On February 11th, we celebrated the Day of Women and Girls in Science and we did it in the best possible company. It is not every day that the authentic Batwoman visits the school… and it happened. Dr. Elena Tena is one of top European experts on bats, in addition to being an exceptional educator. Over the course of an hour from Madrid, she spoke about interesting facts and reasons why we should protect this group of animals. At the end, it was clear that bats are not Dracula but Batman. Not only this, but 1st and 2nd of ESO students helped to create an enormous mural which pays homage to some of the many women who have brought human knowledge to the highest form, against all odds. Surely many of our students will follow in their footsteps.
